I want to purchase a healing crystal for someone close to me that deals with depression and insomnia. I understand you have to program and cleanse the crystal. If I am the one to do it, will the crystal still work for who I give it to? Or will it only work for me because I am the one who programmed it?

Second, do I have to align the crystal with the chakra, or can the person just carry it with them or keep it under their pillow while they sleep?

I have never done this before, so any other tips would be helpful. Thanks!

First off, obviously crystals should not be used as a substitute for professional medical care. With that said, crystals and other energy healing practices work wonderfully along side modern medicine. (And, yes, people, there is research to back this up.)

Now on to answering your question. You can most certainly program the crystals to help the person you are giving them to. I personally program all of the crystal healing jewelry I sell before I ship it to my customers.

The crystals will work fine if simply carried or kept under their pillow when sleeping. I personally have a special crystal dream pillow that I have under my actual pillow with crystals that enhance sleep and dreams. The chakra that best helps depression is the Solar Plexus, so having the crystals in a person’s pocket will have them fairly close to the chakra. Crystals will work as long as it is within a person’s aura field, however they do work best when touching skin. I always recommend that if you feel the need, reach into your pocket and hold the crystals.

Crystals that are best suited to assist with depression include Lapis Lazuli and Smoky Quartz (the 2 best) as well as Lepidolite and Jet. I would also recommend Rose Quartz as it is a very healing and loving stone. All of these crystals are simply to find at most local New Age/Metaphysical stores. Carrying these crystals continuously will work the best. Remember to have your friend cleanse the crystal every now and then by running it under cool water or placing it out in the full moon light. I apologize for saying ROSE Quartz — when the big piece of clear crystal I showed you (and hold in my left hand during a reading) is CLEAR Quartz. Whoopsie.

I’m sure it’s not the first, nor the last mistake I’ll make in a video — but this was seriously the last “take” I was gonna take…. Enjoy!

Descriptions of the stones and how I use them:

Agate — Protecting and Grounding. The colors in your agate relate to the chakras of the same color.
Rose Quartz — Pink stone. Aids in healing the Heart Chakra and enhances all types of love.
Clear Quartz — (I called it Rose Quartz twice, for some reason!) It was the big piece of Clear crystal that I picked up — It enhances energy and connects with spirit. It also helps enhance and heal all the chakras.
Lepidolite — (Purple Pendulum) Balances emotions and negates the negative effects of frequencies emitted from electronics
Selenite — Highly vibrating, deals with Crown chakra, and is self-cleansing as well as cleansing other stones — do not cleanse with water or salt water as it will erode it.
Amanzonite — Deals with 5th and 6th chakra — opening up clairaudience and clairvoyance.
Citrine — Abundance stone, also deals with will power and choice, deals with Solar Plexus chakra.
Blue Chalcedony — deals with 5th chakra and aids me with clairaudience.
Amethyst — wonderful meditation stone & helps to connect with divine guidance and intuition – in that it aids meditation tremendously. Opens your 3rd eye chakra, as well!
